Footers Poured

We stopped by the house tonight. We pulled up to a group of 5 mexicans pulling the form beams off of our newly poured footers!

Overall, it looked like a pretty good job. There was one spot where they had stepped on the footer and there was no longer the indent for the middle strip where the walls will be poured... I etched it out with my fingers though, hopefully it will be good enough. Also, all around the foundation there were drain hoses, some of which were nearly fully clogged with cement. I cleaned these out as well as I could with my fingers, but a few of them had the cement hardened already, but I made sure to get at least 50% of the hole cleaned out.

You can see the big "blobs" of concrete in the middle of the house. I believe those are to support the main beams of the house. You can also see the garage is up on top of the hill... because there is no basement under it, it's on a slab. My guess would be that the actual base of the house will be about 1-2ft above the soil edge. We're hoping for the lower range, so we have a somewhat flat yard, but looking around the neighborhood, the builder likes to raise the houses up so as to avoid water problems.
